Board of Directors

Dr. Wayne Wei-Ming Dai founded our company in August 2001 and has served as our chairman of the board of directors, President and Chief Executive Officer since then. Prior to our founding, Dr. Dai was the Co-Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Celestry Technologies, Inc., a design services company, which was acquired by Cadence Design Systems in 2002. Prior to that, he was the founder, chairman of the board of directors, and Chief Executive Officer of Ultima Interconnect Technology, Inc., a semiconductor design tool company and one of the predecessor companies to Celestry. Dr. Dai was the founding Chairman of the IEEE Multi-Chip Module Conference and the founding Chairman of IEEE Symposium on IC/Package Design Integration. He was an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems and an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems. In 1990, he received the Presidential Young Investigator Award from the President of the United States. Dr. Dai received both his bachelor’s degree in computer science and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.

David Wang is a Partner and one of the founding members of WestSummit Capital, a cross border investment firm focusing on high growth high tech companies. Currently he also serves as the Board of Directors for GigaDevice, Union Optech as well as a few other technology enterprises. Prior to WestSummit Capital, Mr. Wang was a Director at China Horizon Investment Group, where he was responsible for origination and execution of equity investments and JV opportunities. Earlier, Mr. Wang worked at Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division, involved in various IPO and M&A transactions. Prior to that, Mr. Wang worked for the M&A group of Intrawest Corporation, a premier international resort, adventure and real estate company. Mr. Wang graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University in China and an MBA degree from Ivey Business School of the University of Western Ontario in Canada.

Marco Landi has served as a member of our board of directors since July 2006. From 2006 to 2011, Mr. Landi was president of Enerqos S.p.A., a renewable energy company. From 2004 to 2009, until its acquisition by Parrot S.A., a wireless product manufacturer, Mr. Landi served as Chairman of the supervisory board of DiBcom, a fabless semiconductor company that designs chipsets for low power mobile TV and radio reception. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Landi was the President of Europe, Middle East and Africa for BMC Software Inc., a software company improving the delivery and consumption of digital services. From 1994 to 1997, he held numerous senior positions at Apple Computer, Inc., including president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, chief operating officer and president. Before that, Mr. Landi spent 25 years with Texas Instruments in various positions, including as President and General Manager of TI Europe. He was also President of TI Asia, from 1991 to 1993. Mr. Landi is currently a member of the advisory board of WI Harper Group, a leading venture capital firm. Mr. Landi holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bologna, Italy.

Terry McCarthy has served as a member of our board of directors since July 2014. Since 2005, Mr. McCarthy has been a managing member and investor of TriUnited Investors, LLC, an oil operator for oil leases. Mr. McCarthy served as a member of the board of a directors of Hanwha Solar One (NASDAQ: HSOL, formerly known as Solarfun Power Holdings Co., Ltd.), a renewable energy company, from November 2006 to March 2009 and then from November 2009 to September 2010, its audit committee chairman from November 2006 to March 2009, and its director and interim chief financial officer from March 2009 to November 2009. He also served as a member of the board of directors and audit committee chairman of Agria Corporation (NYSE: GRO), an agriculture company, from 2007 to 2010. From 1985 to 2006, Mr. McCarthy worked for Deloitte & Touche LLP in San Jose, California in various roles as a managing partner, tax partner-in-charge and client services partner. Mr. McCarthy received a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.

Soo Boon Quek has served as a member of our board of directors since November 2009. She also serves a member of the board of directors of u blox (SIX: UBXN), a fabless company producing wireless and positioning semiconductors for the automotive, industrial and consumer markets, as well as other privately-held companies. In 1999, Ms. Quek co-founded iGlobe Partners, a venture capital fund which is sponsored by the Economic Development Board of Singapore, and serves as a managing partner. Prior to founding iGlobe Partners, she held executive management positions with Vertex Inc., the venture capital arm of Singapore Technologies. She is a member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Quek received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from King’s College.

Wei-Jin Dai has served as our Executive Vice President and General Manager of Intellectual Property Division, as well as Chief Strategy Officer since December 2015. Wei-Jin has more than 30 years of experience managing business and product development, including as President & CEO of Vivante Corporation before it merged with VeriSilicon. At Vivante, he oversaw the development of industry-leading GPU IP, VISION Processor IP, and Display IP products used in automotive, IoT platforms, entertainment systems and mobile devices. Vivante under Wei-Jin's leadership has grown to more than 50 customers, and has shipped over 300 million units. Before joining Vivante, Wei-Jin was Corporate Vice President at Cadence Design Systems’ leading Digital Implementation System Division for the Encounter product line, which was acquired along with the company Wei-Jin co-founded, Silicon Perspective Corporation. Silicon Perspective Corporation developed the industry-leading First Encounter virtual prototyping systems. Prior to Silicon Perspective, Wei-Jin managed product development at Quickturn Design Systems, a leader in emulation technology, and held engineering and management positions at Hewlett Packard and Lucent Bell Labs. Wei-Jin holds M.S. and B.S. Degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.
